Welcome to Embracing Wanderlust, the travel and lifestyle blog where we share our family’s adventures across the United States – and beyond.
’m Tiffany, the voice behind most of what you’ll read here. This is where you’ll find the story of a couple married for almost 25 years, proud members of the Gen X generation, wanderers by nature — and now on the edge of our empty-nest chapter.
After 13 years living in Europe, camping, road-tripping, and raising our daughter abroad, we carried those experiences back to the States. But as life got busier, it became too easy to put dreams on hold.
In July 2022, I experienced sudden cardiac arrest and was without a heartbeat for 21 minutes. Against all odds, I survived — and that moment became a line in the sand. No more waiting. No more excuses.
Our RV Journey
In September 2023, we bought our first RV — a Forest River Cherokee Limited — and set off to explore. Until then, we spent decades in tents but at some point, you’re just to old for sleeping on the ground.
We quickly realized RV life was exactly what we needed, but our setup wasn’t quite right. In 2024, we upgraded to our current home-on-wheels: a 33-foot Jayco Eagle HT 29DDB fifth wheel, towed by a Ford F-350. This setup provides the freedom to explore and safety to travel in our F-350, while also allowing all of us ample space on the road to sleep and take our favorite things.
Now we’re focused on slow travel: packing up our “bricks-and-sticks” and taking 3–6 month stints on the road, soaking up small towns, hidden hikes, and scenic views at a pace that fits remote work and real life. Between trips, we return to our home base in Florida for family time, health checkups, and resets.

Our Travel Philosophy
We’re a Gen X family standing at the edge of a new chapter. In just two years, our daughter will graduate high school, and we’ll officially be empty nesters. Instead of waiting for “someday,” we’re choosing to create memories now — downsizing, storing most of our belongings, and exploring life at a slower pace.
But our story isn’t only about travel. Embracing Wanderlust is also about living well. Tiffany shares a focus on healthy and active living for women over 40 — from dog-friendly hikes and outdoor fitness to wellness practices that help women feel strong and vibrant while juggling family, career, and adventure.
We believe:
- Adventure is better shared. Travel strengthens family bonds and creates stories you’ll tell for decades.
- Slow travel beats fast checklists. We’d rather savor a small-town diner and an empty trail than rush through crowded landmarks.
- Health makes adventure possible. Staying active and well is what allows us to keep exploring — now and for years to come.
- Preparation fuels freedom. From budgeting to remote work to pet logistics, the right planning makes long-term travel possible.
Embracing Wanderlust is our way of showing that both travel and wellness are possible — even when you’re balancing careers, parenting, and preparing for life’s next phase.
