Welcome to Embracing Wanderlust, the RV blog full of our family’s adventures as we travel across the United States.
Married for over twenty years, S & T have always had a love for travel and a somewhat nomadic way of life. Travel has always been important to us, and we’ve been lots of places in Europe while living oversees. Now we’re ready to make some new travel memories instead of excuses.
Our travel-loving family consists a couple that loves spending time together, our fifteen-year-old daughter (M), a gentle giant Great Dane, and our trusty travel trailer, Tent camping was fun for a decade or so but we always wanted something more. In July 2022, T suffered from sudden cardiac rest and was without a heart beat for 21 minutes.
Blessed to have a second opportunity to live life to its fullest, we decided to finally buy the RV we’ve always dreamed about and start exploring again before there’s no time left. So we started our U.S. adventures via RV in September 2023 when we purchased our Forest River Cherokee Limited.
We’re on a mission to explore the heart of the Midwest and beyond, sharing our pet-friendly escapades with fellow travelers and pet enthusiasts. We look forward to sharing our best travel tips and life advice in this RV blog.

Our family of three + Great Dane needed enough space to work remotely on the road as well as relax together. We selected a nice-sized travel trailer on the hitch with a single slide out in the living space. It has a separate primary suite and a large almost full-sized bunk area that is really cozy. We've already been on enough trips to confirm that it's definitely room enough for a week or two on the road.
